For the photos from the Dendrological Gardens, there is an ongoing effort to identify plant species.

Species identified with high confidence are tagged with both the common and the Latin names. The abbreviation sp. is used when a plant is identified within a genus, but the species cannot be determined with high confidence Plants that cannot be classified are tagged as 'Unclassified', as are photos not containing plants.

The image files are tagged in IPTC and EXIF fields, which will stay with the image upon downloading. Photos can be search according to their tags.
